Cloud Computing

What is all this buzz about "cloud computing"?

Let me tell you. According to Wikipedia, cloud computing (CC) is "an example of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet." In normal language: Clouds often appear as single points of access for all consumers' computing needs.
With cloud computing, users avoid capital expenditure by renting usage of the software platform from a third- party provider. In most cases, consumption is billed only by what the customer uses, like your electric bill at home. CC is radically changing the landscape of software development because it is not necessary to purchase additional hardware or software to use these services.
This rapidly growing computing service is being pioneered by such companies as http://www.google.com/ and http://www.salesforce.com/. Other major companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Amazon, and Yahoo have done extensive research in the area and realize the dramatic shift taking place in IT technology. Chances are you are already familiar with some cloud computing platforms: YouTube, BitTorrent, Skype, Mapquest and Paypal just to name a few.

See you in the CLOUDS!

Start now...or else

I am writing this post out of frustration. I know way too many people that are not investing their money into stocks or mutual funds simply because they don't know how to start. This mindset will surely lead to financial instability in later years and will close doors to future endeavors and opportunities.
The BANK scam: Most people are content with putting their hard-earned $ into savings accounts, CDs, and money markets at their respective banks. In today's economy you will be lucky to find a 3% return on your $ this way. Why not take the extra step to open an account with an online broker such as TradeKing or OptionsHouse and began putting a portion of your earnings into some funds with the potential for 10 - 100% growth??? The banks are investing your $ in the global economy anyway and then returning it to you with a lowsy 3% interest.
Just Remember: Every day that you wait around for the economy to rebound or for an apple to hit you on the head or whatever it is you might be waiting for... you are closing doors to opportunities in your future.
